Position Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Sufficient previous clinical experience in assigned areas preferred
Completion of course of nursing assistants required
CPR Certification
Working Hours/Days:
6:45 a.m. - 3:15 p.m.; 2:45 p.m. - 11:15 p.m., 10:45 p.m. - 7:15 a.m.; or as scheduled. (Hours scheduled in response to patient care demands).
10 days per pay period; 56 hours per pay period; or as scheduled. (Days scheduled in response to patient care demands).
Essential Job Functions:
Abides by established hospital and departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
Assist with patient admission, discharge, transfer, and emergencies.
Observes and reports any unusual incidents or changes in the patient's condition or behavior to appropriate personnel.
Performs basic nursing procedures including thermal procedures, non-sterile soaks, application of simple dressings, perineal care, enemas, sitz baths, application of anti-embolism stockings, specimen collection, positioning patient for comfort, ambulating patient, post mortem care and foley catheter care.
Obtains and documents patient vital signs, including temperature, blood pressure, weight, respiration, pulse, and appropriate intake - output measurements.
Provides personal care assistance to patients, including bathing, dressing, eating, bed pans and transportation. Maintains clean and safe environment in patient care unit.
Maintains confidentiality of patient and unit care data.
Demonstrates sensitivity to patient comfort and privacy and maintains interpersonal relationship with patients, families, visitors, and hospital personnel.
